Fashion Designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka at Their New Home in South Florida

More than a decade after photographing fashion designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka at their Locust Valley home, I stepped back into their world for EQ Living—this time at their new home in South Florida.

Their eye for glamour is everywhere, but so is the ease of the life they’ve made here. We photographed Mark and James among the art and collected treasures inside, then followed them outdoors with their horses and dogs. What stayed with me was their warmth and humor, and how naturally those moments came through in the photographs.

This shoot with Vital Proteins and Jessica Pegula was about capturing the real rhythm of play—those in-between moments as much as the peak action.

We were working alongside a live motion crew, so everything had to move quickly and stay fluid. Small footprint, tight timing, and staying aware of where the moment was about to happen.
