Crafting Visual Narratives for “Live Brilliant” Behind the Lens

There’s nothing like the energy of a large-scale production — overlapping crews, shifting light, constant movement. On Live Brilliant, the rhythm was fierce from the first frame.

Mayda, the agency from London, brought a beautifully aspirational concept to life. The production company ran things seamlessly — tight schedules, multiple locations, high expectations. It was my kind of project.

This campaign is all about light — literal and metaphorical. I leaned into that energy, crafting stills that felt sunlit, natural, and filled with possibility. From scenes of leisure to dynamic glimpses of work and play, every image was designed to reflect the best version of life — elevated, effortless, alive.

I was brought in to shoot stills alongside motion — not just to document, but to create. I’ve developed a rhythm for this kind of work: staying in sync with the film team, slipping in and out of setups, and finding real moments that feel cinematic without interrupting the flow.

There are a few distinct modes of working on a motion set: capturing what’s storyboarded, catching the unscripted, and creating moments that expand the vision.

It’s that third lane I’m most drawn to — building trust with the creative team so I can go beyond the frame, finding visuals no one planned but everyone recognizes when they see them. That’s where the real brilliance happens — in the space between what’s expected and what’s possible. It’s where I live.

While I was focused on capturing stills, I worked seamlessly with the creative and motion team to stay aligned with the overall direction. The video below, which I didn’t shoot or direct, does a beautiful job bringing the “Live Brilliant” concept to life. Huge credit to the producer and her team for guiding such a multifaceted production — overlapping crews, shifting setups, and a big creative vision — all handled with calm precision and clarity.

Projects like this are why I do what I do — collaborative, alive, and built around the rhythm of stills and motion working in sync. When there’s a strong creative vision and room to contribute, the stills become integral to the storytelling.
